4 Reasons Why A Fitness Ball Gets Damaged

Spread the love

The fitness ball is a seemingly ordinary exercise equipment that kids and even adults might think of as a mere toy, but it isn’t. It is definitely a ball, but not that type with which you can play catch or basketball. It is used in many workout routines and is very helpful, created for its numerous benefits.

The fitness ball aids in improving flexibility and balance, in toughening your core, in putting your heart rate up during cardio workouts, and also in keeping your spine and back healthy as you need proper posture when you use it. These are just some of the fitness ball’s good stuff.

Unfortunately, there are many people who do not know how to take proper care of their fitness ball. Some ignore the correct and efficient maintenance of this exercise equipment because they do not regard it as a very important tool in working out and getting fit simply because “it’s just a ball.” And that is one of the initial reasons why fitness balls get in trouble and experience damages.

How do they particularly get damaged? Below are 4 reasons and ways:

OVER INFLATION

There is a right amount of air that the fitness ball can only handle. If you inflate it above its capacity, then it will burst and get totally wrecked. It will be harmful for you while you fill it with air, so be careful.

There are different sizes of this exercise equipment and also various materials, so know them first before you inflate them. In that way, you will know if you’re doing it correctly.

SHARP OBJECTS

The first thing that you have to be watchful of before you actually inflate and use a fitness ball for working out is the environment where you will execute the exercises! Make sure that there are no pointy and rough objects on the ground that will scratch and pierce your fitness ball.

Have a sharp eye to see sharp stuff lying on the floor. Take them out and away immediately before they give you and your fitness ball a heart break. Unnoticed objects such as pins, tiny rocks and sticks can be really minute, but their effects to your fitness ball can be absolutely big and terrible!

Keep in mind as well that these edged items are the most common reasons why fitness balls get devastated.

ROUGH GROUND

Prior to exercising, you must choose an area where you will use your fitness ball. Be very certain that the ground is smooth and not coarse because even if there are no razor-edged things on the floor, the fitness ball can get damaged easily with the ground alone.

Some people use their fitness balls outside on their grassy backyard. It’s because they don’t think their grasses are sharp enough to harm their fitness ball. That can be the case sometimes, but you might not be informed when sharp grounds and stuff hiding underneath the grass exist.

It’s always better and safer to consider smooth flat and polished floors. Using an exercise mat is also one of the ways to be extra sure about taking care of your fitness ball!

IMPROPER STORAGE

Whatever kind of exercise equipment there is, it is crucial to keep it well also and not just use it well. How you store your fitness ball can show a lot about how it looks like when you take it out of its storage area.

Always see to it that if the fitness ball is kept inside a storage room where there are other exercise equipment, it should be placed far from the others, especially those with sharp edges. The size of the area and the space it has are also significant. Make sure that the fitness ball can be placed in and taken out of it easily that it doesn’t get any scratch. The storage area should have an opening bigger than the fitness ball so that you don’t have to squeeze it in and out which might damage the equipment.

NO TO WRECKED FITNESS BALL

Do not take the fitness ball for granted. It is an indispensable exercise equipment that brings forth tons of merits. It is made well for working out and exercising, but being a flexible yet soft equipment, it can be sensitive too.
